The natural choice for serious skincare begins with intention—and in Sandpoint, Idaho, that intention is brought to life by Genee’ Jo. A second-generation, European-trained Licensed Master Aesthetician with over two decades of experience, Genee’ has created Su Gee’ Skin Care (pronounced Su Jhay) as a space where healing, beauty, and presence intersect.

Raised in the industry by her mother, also an aesthetician, Genee’ carries a legacy of care into every treatment. Her work blends time-tested European methods with a deeply personalized approach, helping women—especially those over 40—reconnect with their skin and reclaim their radiance. At Su Gee’, skincare is more than a routine; it’s a restorative experience rooted in calm, confidence, and soulful transformation.

Q. You bring years of experience to your practice—what inspired you to pursue a career in skincare, and how has your journey evolved?

A. My skincare journey was born from a deep love of nurturing and a fascination with the skin’s ability to tell a story—of stress, health, joy, and time. I became licensed in 2003, but even before that, I was drawn to the quiet power of healing touch. Over the years, my practice has evolved from simply treating the surface to honoring the whole person. Especially for women over 40, I’ve seen skincare become a way to reclaim confidence, presence, and peace. My work now blends science, soul, and skin literacy.

Q. You describe yourself as "European trained." Could you explain what this training entails and how you incorporate these European techniques into your treatments?

A. European skincare is about respecting the skin’s natural rhythm. My training focuses on hands-on techniques, thorough analysis, and treating the skin holistically, not aggressively. I use massage, manual exfoliation, and strategic product layering to support the skin barrier and circulation. Every treatment is intentional and rooted in long-term skin vitality, not quick fixes.

Q. What unique approach or philosophy sets Su Gee’ Skin Care apart from other skincare providers?

A. At Su Gee’ Skin Care, I create sacred pauses, moments to stop and simply be. My philosophy is rooted in restoration, not just rejuvenation. Clients are not rushed through cookie-cutter treatments—they receive personalized care that addresses their unique skin story. It's skin therapy with soul, blending European technique, botanical support, and mindful touch.

Q. Why is it important for clients to understand the difference between standard skincare treatments and the specialized, personalized services you offer?

A. Standard treatments follow a set script, but skin isn’t one-size-fits-all. My approach is guided by real-time skin observation and each client’s unique goals. It’s thoughtful, responsive care—not just routine. Clients deserve that level of personalization and education. It’s the difference between basic upkeep and a treatment that feels like a restorative, intentional gift.

Q. What aspects of your work do you find most fulfilling, and how do you hope to impact the lives of your clients?

A. Seeing someone light up when they see their reflection—calmer, softer, and more confident—is everything to me. It’s more than skincare; it’s about helping people reconnect with themselves. My goal with every treatment is to offer more than a facial. I want each client to experience a moment of peace—a deep exhale from the busyness of life, a full-body reset, and a gentle reminder that their beauty is still blooming, even in seasons of stress or change. When someone leaves my space feeling renewed, grounded, and radiant, that’s the impact I hope to have.

Q. As someone immersed in advanced skincare techniques, how do you stay ahead of industry trends to ensure your clients receive the most effective and innovative treatments?

A. I stay curious and committed to learning. That means investing time in advanced training, diving into the latest ingredient research, and maintaining close connections with trusted European and holistic educators. These relationships keep me informed and grounded, so I don’t get swept up in fleeting hype. I integrate advanced techniques like skin tightening and lifting into a holistic framework that supports the skin’s natural function. It’s a gentle yet effective approach that delivers visible results without compromising long-term skin health. Every trend is filtered through a lens of discernment—if it doesn’t honor the skin’s natural rhythms or benefit my clients over time, I won’t use it. I always ask, “Will this truly serve my clients long-term?” That question guides every choice I make.

Q. If you could recommend just one essential skincare practice everyone should incorporate into their daily routine, what would it be and why?

A. Gentle, intentional cleansing. It sounds simple, but it’s foundational—and often overlooked. Cleansing removes buildup and stress from the skin while preparing it to receive hydration and nourishment. But beyond function, when done with care and mindfulness, it becomes a ritual—a small, powerful act of self-love. Those few minutes at the beginning or end of your day can ground you, reset your energy, and reconnect you to your body. In a world that moves so fast, five minutes of intentional care can truly shift your whole day.

Q. Sandpoint is close to your heart. What initially attracted you to this community, and how does your business contribute to its local culture?

A. Sandpoint’s natural beauty and community spirit immediately spoke to me. There’s a quiet magic here—a rhythm that invites you to slow down and breathe. My spa reflects that. I support local artisans, participate in wellness events, and create space where people can unplug, reconnect, and feel truly seen.
