For Travis Mire, helping families achieve homeownership is both personal and rewarding. As a lifelong Sandpoint local, husband, and father, he brings genuine care and community understanding to every client relationship. Through CMG’s innovative programs, he’s making the mortgage process clear, efficient, and tailored to each homeowner’s needs.


Q. You’ve called Sandpoint home for most of your life. What makes this community such a special place to live and raise a family?


Sandpoint has always been home — it’s a special place. It’s because of the people and how connected everyone is. You know your neighbors, your kids’ teachers and coaches, and the folks running the local businesses. At the heart of it, we all support one another. Growing up here, that kind of community shaped me, and now my wife Jessie and I get to see our kids, Brecken and Cooper, experience the same. Between the small-town values, the natural beauty, and the support for families, there’s just no better place to live and call home.


Q. ​​What inspired you to pursue a career in the mortgage industry back in 2013, and what keeps you passionate about it today?


I never expected to end up in mortgage. What started as an opportunity has grown into a career I truly enjoy. It’s allowed me to provide for my family while helping others reach their homeownership goals. The ability to help people in our community - and those joining it - is what keeps me passionate about the industry. 


Q. The Sandpoint area has a mix of first-time buyers, retirees, and second-home owners. How do you tailor your approach to meet the needs of such a diverse client base?


Sandpoint’s housing market is as diverse as the people who live here, from lifelong locals to those drawn to the area for its beauty and small-town lifestyle. I take the time to get to know each customer, understand their goals, and structure a loan that fits their needs. Every transaction here feels personal; it’s more than just a loan. Most of the people I work with are friends, neighbors, or folks I’ll get to know, and that makes it personal to me.

Both programs offer flexibility and control that make a real difference in today’s world. 


Q. What do you enjoy most about guiding first-time homebuyers through the process, and how do you help them feel confident from start to finish?


First-time homebuyers can be some of the most enjoyable and rewarding transactions. I remember buying my first home and watching friends and family do the same. It’s a big deal, and it feels different. There’s so much excitement and emotion involved, and I enjoy helping guide people through that experience. It’s about making sure they understand each step, feel supported, and can truly enjoy the moment when they get the keys to their first home. 


Q. When you’re not helping families find their dream home, where might we find you around town or outdoors with your family?


When I’m not in the office, Jessie and I spend most of our time focused on family and the kids’ activities - basketball, soccer, and music. That’s usually where you’ll find us, whether we’re in a gym, on a field, out on the lake, or spending time with family and friends here in Sandpoint. It’s busy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
