“While I was in charge of Mousetrap, a 72-foot Viking yacht in Mexico and later in San Diego, the owner decided to sell it,” Tomlinson Sotheby’s International Realty’s Associate Broker Shannon Schulz recalls, looking back on how her real estate career began.

Shannon began her love of real estate by working in yacht management and maintenance in the maritime industry, where she managed anywhere from 50 to 100 boats at a time. When it came time to sell Mousetrap, Shannon remembers, “I prepared the yacht for the listing and worked closely with the broker on the sale. I fell in love with the process and immediately knew I wanted to steer my career in that direction.”

It was during this transaction that Shannon learned a lot about herself. She loved meeting new people, developing trusting relationships, learning about their needs and goals, and helping them achieve those goals. “There are innumerable ways to execute a sale, ensuring the client receives the most value. The entire process – from beginning to end – is so rewarding,” she shares.

Shannon and her family purchased their first North Idaho property in 2010. “We fell in love with North Idaho from the start – the sense of community, natural beauty, lakes, mountains, and abundant recreational opportunities,” she reflects. In 2018, they moved to Sandpoint, and Shannon says, “We wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, but the very best part of North Idaho is the people. There are so many amazing community members and business professionals.”

In 2019, Shannon earned her license as a sales associate, and today, she is proud to be a licensed Associate Broker with Tomlinson Sotheby’s International Realty. In 2020, Shannon’s husband, Greg, joined her in real estate. Shannon explains, “He is my heavy lifter! Together, we have been able to combine our strengths and elevate the client experience!”

Serving Bonner, Kootenai and Boundary counties, Shannon looks forward to assisting each of her clients, learning everything about their real estate goals, and ultimately helping them realize that dream. “We have amazing new and repeat clients and many referrals,” Shannon notes. “We have been very blessed to work with so many outstanding people!”

Partnering with the Sotheby’s International Realty brand was crucial to Shannon. Working in the yacht industry gave her an appreciation for “white-glove” concierge service. The Sotheby’s brand is a nearly 300-year tradition of integrity and excellence. Sotheby’s International Realty continually enjoys the most share of press for luxury real estate in top-tier media outlets like The Wall Street Journal, Mansion Global, and Architectural Digest. SIR also has an impressive global reach, spanning 1,100 offices and 81 countries.

An excellent communicator and listener, Shannon responds quickly and is always available to help. Combined with her proven integrity, effective and focused negotiation skills, and attention to detail, Shannon ensures a positive and rewarding process from start to finish. She is knowledgeable about the market and community and has developed an outstanding and dedicated professional network.

“I understand the importance of quality service and achieving the best value possible,” she adds. “I love what I do, but by far the most rewarding part of my work is helping our clients reach their goals, start their next chapter, and contribute to the community.”

Shannon is a proud supporter of Bonner Homeless Transitions and member of the National Association of Realtors, Residential Real Estate Council, Selkirk and Coeur d’Alene Association of Realtors, North Idaho Building Contractors Association, and the Sandpoint Elks Lodge.
