Boutique wines, gourmet finds, and local flavor

Wine4U is breathing new life into Sandpoint’s wine scene with a fresh brand, a stylish new storefront, and a mission to offer more than just bottles—it’s about the experience. Located at 1309 Ponderosa Drive with plenty of parking and easy access, Wine4U has grown from a successful wine club into a full-service boutique wine shop and tasting destination. Inside, you’ll find a curated mix of wines, gourmet gifts, and local charm—all thoughtfully arranged to invite discovery. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to browse, sip, and come back to often.

“I really wanted to elevate my business,” says owner Beth Giacomo. “Opening a shop with gourmet items, gifts, gift baskets, wine clubs, and great wines all in one place—I felt I needed a new look to show how far we’ve come.”

That evolution is clear the moment you step inside. From artfully arranged wines to imported chocolates, crackers, and gourmet condiments, the shop offers an immersive experience. “Sandpoint hasn’t had a wine shop for 10 years,” Beth shares. “Everything I carry, I’ve tasted and personally selected. My goal is to offer customers a wine experience they might not have had before.”

The focus is on exclusivity, not just in terms of price, but also in intention. Grocery store brands aren’t stocked here (unless specifically requested), and the shelves invite patrons to discover wines they didn’t know they were missing. Guests are encouraged to sip as they shop or relax on the patio with a glass in hand.

Wine4U isn’t just a wine shop—it’s a hidden gem with plenty of parking, a curated selection, and a welcoming vibe. Beth wants the community to know it’s open and thriving. Stay in the loop through the newsletter, which shares updates on events, tastings, and travel. Planning a celebration? Wine4U is available for private events—just reach out to make the space your own.

While the shop doesn’t serve food, guests are welcome to bring their own bites, and Beth continues expanding her gourmet inventory. “I just returned from a wine tour in Italy and have been bringing in some of the gourmet products we had there,” she says. “I’m especially excited for some balsamic vinegars that pair beautifully with our other offerings.”

The Wine4U wine club has also grown, now offering multiple tiers and creative themes. “The club has evolved several times—I now offer $40 and $70 levels. The Bubbles of the Quarter and Library of the Quarter are gaining interest,” Beth says. Monthly tastings help drive that growth. Held every third Monday at Baxter’s Backdoor, these events introduce both members and newcomers to new wines and styles. “As customers try more of what I offer, they become more interested in joining the club for access to unique and fun selections.”

Pop-up tastings and special events fill the shop's calendar, often featuring winemakers and winery reps. This summer brings tastings with Mercer Winery (July 16), Rombauer (July 26), and Grosgrain from Walla Walla (August 27). Weekly Happy Hours on Thursdays and Fridays, 4 - 6 pm, and Mimosa & Spritz Saturdays, 11 am - 3 pm, offer locals the perfect excuse to unwind.

Though in-person experiences are now the focus, Wine4U's website remains a convenient hub for online orders and event news. And more adventures await. After a successful food and wine tour through Italy, Wine4U is planning more international journeys. “We’re targeting South America for fall 2026,” Beth says. “But don’t count out France in the spring—it’s still on the table. Our goal is to offer one or two trips a year.”

And coming this July is the launch of The Wine Collective—a brand-new membership inspired by the classic beer mug club, but for wine lovers.

“My mission is to elevate your wine experience,” Beth says. “My goal is to awaken your passion with wine, friends, and food.”

Whether you’re shopping for a gift, planning a party, or just exploring new wines, Wine4U invites you to sip, shop, and stay awhile.
