Ready to Serve You the Best

Loyal Customers Keep Restaurant Going Strong

Located just west of Downtown Spokane in the heart of the historic Browne’s Addition neighborhood is where you will find one of the area’s true treasures—The Elk Public House.

Consistently good food and atmosphere along with friendly service and menu items offered at a reasonable price—these are what appeal to everybody, no matter one’s age or financial status. And whether it’s your first date or 50th anniversary, The Elk will treat you to an experience that won’t soon be forgotten. This is what The Elk Public House has delivered year after year to their guests since opening its doors in 1999.

Take a seat in the comfortable and inviting welcome-to-my-house environment, which is laid back, not pretentious. Here you will be treated like family, whether you’re an out-of-town guest dining in for the first time or one of their loyal customers for two decades.

Owned by John Grollmus and Brad Fosseen, their employees most certainly care about the restaurant and their guests as is reflected by the many longtime staff members it employs. From ownership down through management and staff, when you walk into The Elk, it feels like family. And they treat their guests as such.

Now let’s talk food. In addition to the traditional Reuben, thanks to the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” show, which featured the Elk back in 2010, the Santa Fe chicken sandwich, Mediterranean grilled lamb sandwich and legendary roasted corn pasta are favorites. They also offer creative weekly specials and homemade soups, inventive cocktails and great brews.

John and Brad are also the duo behind Two Seven Public House, El Que and Geno’s Traditional Food and Ales in Spokane, Moon Time in Coeur d’Alene and The Porch Public House in Hayden. Their common philosophy at each location is to make food from scratch, price it affordably and serve it with a smile.

Every neighborhood should be so lucky.
